Need more customers? I think we'd all like to have more customers, right?

People have to, no MUST, know who you are if they will be willing to call you and give you the opportunity to serve them. There are numerous ways to become known so I’ll list some of my favorites.

  • Having your brand plastered all over your company vehicles. Once you get it done, it’s like having “free” marketing for life on that vehicle. So many people don’t take this seriously and that’s a big mistake!

  • Social media is free to post on and if you’re not doing it, you’re missing out on a huge opportunity. There are so many people on social that it’s simply irresponsible not to take advantage of it!

  • Door hangers are cheap and every time you run a service call you can expand your message by hanging a door hanger on at least 4 homes. Be sure to have coupons they can use if they need your services!

  • Yard signs! I know they aren’t the cheapest option but think of how everyone in the neighborhood will see your logo so they can get familiar with your brand. Before you know it, they will recognize your company vehicles because they saw one of your yard signs. You can also use this as part of your marketing budget by giving a $10 discount for your clients who allow you to put up a yard sign.

  • Business cards are a little old school BUT they have been a staple for how many decades at this point? A LOT! And the people who are more financially stable are typically older people so those people are accustomed to business cards so be sure to hand out as many as you can AND have a discount listed on those as well! Just like $10 if they show a business card on a service call will do.

  • Emails are so vital to the success of your business you just can’t imagine! Be sure to collect emails on each customer when they call you for a service. You can use those emails to promote your company, your specials, your promotions and current things happening in your business! Make it personal.

  • Don’t overlook YouTube for your HVAC business. You can create information driven content that would be relevant to your clients. If you use tags and titles on the videos that people in your area would search for when they need service, youtube is talking to google, so you can become the go-to person in your region.

  • Hold open houses at your place of business. We did this a couple times and we were always surprised by the turnout. We just grilled free hot dogs and on one occasion we rented a bouncy house for the kids. It was a ton of fun and it was nice to be able to give back to the community.

  • Professional uniforms are a must in order to get known and get noticed in your community. Don’t overlook this simple yet effective way to position yourself as experts!

  • Promotional products are an easy way and customers love them! You can have coozy’s with your company logo on them and hand them to all your clients. It’s cheap and very cool to have your customers use them, continuing to promote your company.

I hope this helps your business get noticed like it did mine! You cannot promote your company enough! You are never finished! The constant promotion is necessary to stay relevant so from this point on, DO NOT STOP! Always look for opportunities to promote yourself in new ways!
